The Kent County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) is investigating a homicide following the discovery of a deceased man on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, on Lovers Lane near Chestertown, Maryland.
Authorities say deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a vehicle stopped on the roadway. Upon arrival, a KCSO patrol deputy found the male driver deceased inside the vehicle, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The incident has been confirmed as a homicide.
The KCSO Criminal Investigation Division, along with the Maryland State Police Crime Scene Unit, responded to the scene to collect evidence and begin a thorough investigation. After processing the area, investigators identified the victim as 50-year-old Jermaine Lafel Miles of Grasonville, Maryland. His next of kin has been notified.
