Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of 25-year-old Juan Antonio Villasana on Saturday evening, October 25, 2025, in rural Hidalgo County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the tragic accident occurred around 8:33 p.m. on East Ingle Road, north of Jasman Road, when a Nissan Kicks collided with a Can-Am Maverick off-road vehicle.
Preliminary reports indicate that the Can-Am Maverick, driven by a male with Villasana as a passenger, was traveling westbound on East Ingle Road when the Nissan, also heading west, attempted to pass on the left. During the passing maneuver, the two vehicles collided, resulting in a severe impact that caused fatal injuries to Villasana. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and evaluated both drivers for injuries; however, neither was transported to the hospital. Villasana was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officials say the crash remains under active investigation as troopers work to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision. It has not yet been confirmed whether factors such as speed, road conditions, or visibility played a role in the fatal incident.
