Authorities are investigating the tragic death of Tyler D. Weaver, 25, who was found deceased following a home invasion on Friday, October 24, 2025. Officers with the Forest City Police Department responded to a call around 9:50 a.m. reporting the incident at 114 Harris Lee Drive.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Weaver lying on the floor inside the home. Once the area was secured, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services personnel determined that Weaver had succumbed to his injuries.
In the hours following the discovery, law enforcement conducted an extensive search of the wooded area around the residence, as well as a canvassing of the surrounding neighborhood. Despite these efforts, investigators believe the suspect(s) had fled the area before officers arrived.
The investigation remains active, and authorities are working tirelessly to uncover more details surrounding the crime. Detectives, with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), are processing the crime scene for forensic evidence and following up on all leads. At this time, authorities have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.
