15-Year-Old Girl Fatally Shot in Ogden; Teenage Suspect in Custody

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the tragic passing of 15-year-old Chanelle, who lost her life in a shooting early Saturday morning, October 18, 2025, in Ogden, Utah.

According to the Ogden City Police Department, officers responded around 3 a.m. to reports of gunfire near the 3500 block of Jackson Avenue. When they arrived, they found Chanelle suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Despite efforts from first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following an investigation, police identified a juvenile suspect from Syracuse City, who was taken into custody and charged with murder. Authorities have stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community as the investigation continues.

Friends and family are now mourning the devastating loss of a vibrant young girl whose life was cut far too short. A GoFundMe created to support funeral expenses describes Chanelle as “beautiful and feisty, with a gracious smile, a contagious laugh, and a soul that could light up any room.”

“Our hearts are shattered as we share the heartbreaking loss of Chanelle,” the family wrote. “Her life was taken far too soon, at just 15 years old. It still doesn’t feel real, and words can’t begin to describe the pain we feel.”

Chanelle will be remembered for her radiant spirit, her laughter, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
