It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Nohelis Gonzalez Umbria, a 26-year-old woman from South Bend, who tragically lost her life in a rollover crash on Old US Highway 20 in Elkhart County, Indiana.
According to authorities, the accident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Nohelis was a passenger in a vehicle that reportedly overcorrected after veering off the road due to wet conditions. The vehicle then moved in front of another car, which collided with it on the passenger side, causing it to roll over.
Both drivers involved were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of their injuries. The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
