SUPPORT THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS YOU

Berg, a second-year finance major at Plymouth State University and 2022 graduate of Newfound Regional High School, died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, officials confirmed.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:44 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, when State Police received a report of a vehicle fire along the wood line, about one mile north of Exit 24 on I-93 — a correction from initial reports that mistakenly stated the vehicle was located south of the exit.

When Troopers from the Troop F barracks arrived, they found a 2023 Nissan Sentra fully engulfed in flames. The preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle was traveling southbound when, for unknown reasons, it veered off the right side of the highway, struck a wooded area, and caught fire.

Berg was the only occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Responding units included the Ashland Fire Department and Plymouth Fire & Rescue, who assisted State Police in extinguishing the blaze and securing the scene.

Investigators are still working to determine the factors that led to the crash. Anyone with information that could assist in the ongoing investigation is urged to contact Trooper Jawara Conde at (603) 451-9555 or via email at Jawara.G.Conde@dos.nh.gov.

Friends, classmates, and community members are mourning the loss of Berg, remembered for his kindness and ambition both at Plymouth State University and in his hometown of Bristol.

The New Hampshire State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
