Mark Poirier Temple, Texas Car Accident: Moody Man Identified as Victim in Fatal Temple Crash

Authorities have identified the man who was killed early Tuesday morning after being struck by an SUV in Temple as 61-year-old Mark Poirier of Moody.

According to the Temple Police Department, officers were dispatched to the scene around 5:52 a.m. on October 14, 2025, following reports of a pedestrian being hit in the 10,700 block of West Highway 36. When first responders arrived, they found Poirier critically injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 6 a.m.

The roadway was shut down in both directions for several hours as investigators worked to process the scene. Traffic was temporarily diverted through the CEFCO parking lot to allow crews to safely complete their work.

Police have not released details about the driver of the SUV or the circumstances leading to the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to determine what caused the incident.
