Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man near U.S. Highway 80 in Uniontown on Sunday evening.
Man Shot and Killed in Uniontown Identified as 21-Year-Old Shermain Cain
According to Perry County District Attorney Robert Turner Jr., the victim, identified as Shermain Cain, was shot while sitting inside a vehicle sometime between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. The incident occurred in the area near Jones Lounge and the Dollar General store, a typically quiet stretch that became the scene of tragedy.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the shooting, but despite efforts to save him, Cain succumbed to his injuries. Investigators have since interviewed multiple individuals who may have information related to the case, though no arrests have been made at this time, Turner confirmed.
This marks the second homicide of the year in Uniontown, a small Perry County community now mourning another life lost to gun violence.
