The Leon County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Friday afternoon near Interstate 10 eastbound, Exit 203, leaving two people injured and prompting warnings for the public to avoid the area.
Deputies confirmed that two victims were struck by gunfire. Their conditions have not yet been released. Emergency crews responded quickly, and the victims were transported for medical treatment.
The suspect remains at large, and law enforcement is urging residents to remain vigilant. Authorities have asked that anyone who sees the suspect or suspicious activity call 911 immediately and not approach the individual.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area near Exit 203 while the investigation continues, as traffic delays and detours are expected.
