Organized Crime Figure “Bobby the Greek” Targeted in Fatal Laval Shooting Near Starbucks
Charalambos Theologou Québec Organized Crime Boss “Bobby the Greek” Shot Dead in Laval Starbucks Cafe
LAVAL, QC (Oct. 1, 2025) – A brazen daylight shooting rocked Laval Wednesday morning, leaving one man dead and two others seriously injured in what police believe was a targeted attack linked to organized crime.
The Attack
Gunfire erupted shortly before 11 a.m. near a Starbucks café by Highway 440 and Highway 13. Witnesses reported a burst of automatic weapon fire as customers scrambled for safety.
According to initial reports, the assailants opened fire with what is believed to be a machine gun, striking 40-year-old Charalambos Theologou, better known as “Bobby the Greek,” along with two associates.
Despite emergency responders’ efforts to revive him, Theologou is believed to have succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His companions were rushed to hospital in serious condition. Their prognoses remain uncertain.
A Known Underworld Figure
Though little known to the public, Theologou was a significant player in Laval’s organized crime scene, police sources said. Nicknamed “Bobby the Greek,” he had longstanding ties to extortion operations and was allegedly linked to ordering several violent acts in Quebec.
At the time of the attack, Theologou and his associates were reportedly leaving, or preparing to enter, an armored Cadillac Escalade, underscoring the high-risk lifestyle he led.
Investigation
Given its suspected ties to organized crime, the investigation has been handed over to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ). Armed officers and forensic units established a wide security perimeter around the Starbucks as they interviewed witnesses and searched for evidence.
The suspects fled quickly after the shooting and remain at large. No suspect descriptions have been released.
Community Shaken
The brazen attack in a busy commercial district left bystanders shaken. Patrons in nearby businesses were forced into lockdown as police secured the area.
Police are urging anyone with information or cellphone footage from the incident to contact investigators immediately.
This remains an active and developing investigation. Updates will be provided as new details emerge.
