A 34-year-old woman who was shot and killed in Rockford early Tuesday morning has been identified as Katlyn Acord, a beloved mother of two, sister, and friend.

Rockford Police said officers responded to the 900 block of Kishwaukee Street around 6:10 a.m. and discovered Acord inside a vehicle with a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made, and authorities have not released any description of a possible suspect. The investigation remains active.
Police are also looking into a separate death reported in the area of 24th Street on Tuesday. A man was found dead there, but law enforcement has not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected.
