Missing Toddler Alert: Community In Search Of 4-Year-Old Gus Lamont Yunta

The desperate search for missing four-year-old Gus Lamont near Yunta is set to enter its fourth day, with hopes still high that the little boy will be found safe. Gus was last seen on Saturday evening, playing in the front yard of his grandparents’ remote property before he disappeared without a trace.

Since his disappearance, police, SES volunteers, and members of the local community have worked tirelessly around the clock, scouring the rugged terrain surrounding the property. Search crews have been using helicopters, drones, and thermal imaging equipment to cover as much ground as possible, while ground teams, including trackers and mounted units, have searched on foot and horseback.

Authorities say the search area has now expanded significantly, given the time that has passed, with crews focusing on water sources, nearby bushland, and outbuildings. Local farmers and station owners have also joined the effort, using motorbikes and four-wheel drives to help comb the expansive outback region.

Family and friends of the Lamont family have been gathering at the property, anxiously awaiting news. “We just want Gus home,” one family member said, describing the four-year-old as a bright, energetic boy who loves playing outdoors.

Police are urging anyone in the area to check sheds, tanks, and properties in case Gus has sought shelter. They are also appealing for information from anyone who may have been travelling through the region on Saturday night and might have seen something.

Despite the harsh conditions and the growing urgency, search coordinators remain hopeful. “Our priority is finding Gus and reuniting him with his family,” a police spokesperson said.

As the search enters its fourth day, the community’s determination and the family’s plea for Gus’s safe return remain stronger than ever.
