The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal UTV crash that claimed the life of 22-year-old Sean Troyer of Sugarcreek on September 21, 2025.
Troopers said the accident happened around 1:00 p.m. on Ridgeview Road in Blue Rock Township. According to investigators, Troyer was operating a 2022 Polaris Ranger eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve, went off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned.
Troyer was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, whose name has not been released, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Genesis Hospital for treatment.
Authorities said a lack of seat belt usage is believed to be a contributing factor in the deadly crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
