Man drowns near Marina del Rey Harbor, fire officials say

MARINA DEL REY, Calif. (KABC) — A man drowned near the Marina del Rey Harbor on Sunday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The approximately 50-year-old man was last seen entering the ocean channel, the fire department said. L.A. County lifeguards found him about 30 yards from the channel entrance.

Firefighters and paramedics were on scene to provide aid, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His identity has not been released.
