The deadly collision occurred around 7:00 a.m. on Yale Street, involving a vehicle driven by a Bolivar County Sheriff’s Deputy.

According to a statement from the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2019 Dodge Ram driven westbound by a 29-year-old deputy and a 1986 Toyota truck carrying the two teens. The impact resulted in fatal injuries to both the driver and the passenger of the Toyota. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The deputy sustained moderate injuries and was transported for medical care.
