Thompson, Derrig & Craig, P.C. shares with heavy hearts the passing of our esteemed senior partner, Ronnie Lynn Craig, CPA. Ronnie died peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. Though we grieve his loss, we take comfort in the knowledge that he rests in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A graduate of Texas Tech University in 1986, Ronnie earned his CPA license in 1988 before beginning his career on the audit and tax staff of Price Waterhouse (now PwC). In 1994, he joined our firm, quickly becoming a guiding force in tax strategy and audit services. Over three decades, Ronnie’s technical expertise and steady counsel were the foundation upon which many client relationships were built.

Ronnie’s leadership extended well beyond the office. He served on the Regional Board of Directors for First Financial Bank and previously on the boards of The Bank and Trust of Bryan College Station and The First National Bank of Bryan. As past president of both the TXCPA Brazos Valley chapter and the Brazos Valley Estate and Financial Planning Council, Ronnie championed professional excellence and community outreach. His volunteer work with the City of Bryan, Bryan ISD, various non-profits, and the First Baptist Church of Bryan enriched countless lives.
To know Ronnie was to experience his quick wit, genuine warmth, and unwavering integrity. He exemplified the role of a “trusted advisor,” always placing clients’ needs first and tailoring solutions with precision and care. Colleagues recall his ready laughter, inclusive mentorship, and the kindness he extended during long hours of audit season. His presence graced our halls and forged a culture of mutual respect and friendship.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife, Gay Vick Craig (Texas A&M Class of 1983), and their two daughters, Emily (married to Charlie Smith) and Kinsey (married to Andrés López). Funeral and memorial arrangements will be shared once finalized.
