The Clinton and Tecumseh communities are grieving the heartbreaking and sudden loss of Karlie Baird, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, friend, and colleague. Known for her kindness, energy, and unwavering devotion to her family, Karlie touched countless lives in her short but meaningful time on earth.
A Woman of Many Talents
Karlie was a proud resident of Clinton, Michigan, though her roots were deeply tied to Tecumseh, where she grew up. She balanced her professional pursuits with her greatest role in life—being a devoted wife to her husband Jonathan (Jon) Baird and a loving mother to their children, Bentley and Kally. Her friends and family describe her as someone whose joy and warmth filled every room, someone who could make even the simplest moment memorable.
Professionally, Karlie worked at Amerivac Hydro Excavation, where her determination and reliability made her a respected team member. Yet her entrepreneurial spirit also shone brightly. As the Owner and CEO of KB Mixology Wedding/Event Bartender, she built a business that reflected her creativity and passion for bringing happiness to others. Through her work, she not only provided excellent service but also created memories for families, couples, and friends celebrating life’s most important milestones.
Dedication to Learning and Growth
Karlie’s commitment to others extended to her education. She studied Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Child Psychology, Sociology, and Human Development at Siena Heights University. Her academic journey highlighted her care for children and families, a theme that was consistent in both her personal and professional life. Those who knew her admired her constant drive to learn and her ability to turn that knowledge into compassion and action.
A Family-Centered Life
At the center of Karlie’s world was her family. She adored her husband Jon, with whom she built a loving home and shared dreams for the future. As a mother, she poured her heart into raising Bentley and Kally, ensuring they felt supported, safe, and endlessly loved. Her children were her greatest joy, and her legacy of patience, love, and dedication will continue to live on in them.
Community Support in a Time of Loss
The suddenness of Karlie’s passing on Saturday, September 6th, has left her family in shock and grief. In response, friends and community members have come together to surround the Baird family with love and practical support. A fundraiser organized by Brea Below and Holly Wright shared the collective heartbreak:
“Karlie was a devoted mother who loved Bentley & Kally fiercely. For her husband Jon and the kids, losing Karlie so quickly and unexpectedly has left them in shock & despair. The reality of accumulating financial obligations, everyday living expenses, and unexpected funeral costs is weighing heavy on the shoulders of Jon & her family. This tragedy has left many of us wondering — how can we help?”
The campaign has become a way for people to donate, share, and show solidarity, proving that Karlie’s generosity and warmth are reflected back by the community she loved.
Tributes of Love
Friends have also spoken out, sharing heartfelt memories and grief. Larisa SueAnn expressed:
“I have no words — I am completely heartbroken. All the memories flood my head, Karlie you were one of my best friends — someone I could always count on. We were supposed to watch our kids grow up together. I am going to miss you so dang much!”
Her words capture the ache of losing someone so deeply woven into the fabric of others’ lives.
A Legacy of Love
Though her life ended far too soon, Karlie Baird’s impact will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, friendship, hard work, and above all, love for her family. Her spirit will live on in her children, in the community she helped build, and in the countless lives she touched with her warmth and generosity.
As the Clinton and Tecumseh communities gather to mourn, they also celebrate Karlie’s life — a life defined not by its length, but by its beauty, love, and the memories she leaves behind.
