The Hartford Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning on Main Street.
On August 24, 2025, at approximately 1:42 a.m., patrol officers responded to 3250 Main Street after receiving reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive gunshot victim.
The victim, later identified as Niajae Vernon, 25, of Hartford (DOB: 1/13/00), was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The Hartford Police Major Crimes and Crime Scene Divisions are leading the investigation into the homicide. Authorities have not released any information regarding possible suspects at this time.
