Authorities have identified Shirley Martin, 82, of Buffalo, as the victim of a tragic crash that occurred Saturday afternoon north of Fredonia.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Martin was traveling southbound on Harper Road when she failed to stop at a stop sign at US 400 and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by Brittany Sweet of Wichita.
Martin, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sweet and passenger Mariah Tucker of Belle Plaine were transported to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries. A third passenger in the Sweet vehicle was not injured.
