Authorities are investigating a possible murder after a man was found dead inside a Liverpool residence Sunday afternoon, according to the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance at a home in the 200 block of Liverpool Spur. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man lying on the ground with multiple suspected gunshot wounds and showing no signs of life. A second man was detained at the scene, allowing Emergency Medical Services to safely enter and attempt life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Javier Martinez of Liverpool, Texas. His body was transported to the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office, along with forensic personnel, responded to the scene and launched a thorough death investigation. The individual detained at the scene was later taken into custody and is expected to face murder charges.
