Two Separate Weekend Shootings Leave Victims in Critical Condition, One Arrest Made

We’re investigating two separate shootings that happened over the weekend, both of which left the victims in critical condition.
The first shooting occurred around 11:15 Saturday night at a home in the 300 block of Robison Place. A 61-year-old man was shot multiple times after answering the door and letting two men into his apartment. After the shooting, the suspects stole a small safe and ran from the scene. The victim was taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital. This case is still under investigation.
The second shooting happened Sunday morning around 8:30 outside a home in the 3000 block of Lester Street. Officers found a 43-year-old man in the driveway with a single gunshot wound to the neck. When officers couldn’t find a pulse, they immediately started CPR and worked to control the bleeding until EMS arrived. He was also taken to St. Michael Hospital. Calvin Young, the victim’s 65-year-old father, was arrested at the scene and booked into the Bi-State Jail for Aggravated Assault Involving Serious Bodily Injury. At this point, we don’t know what led up to the shooting.
