Police are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a man early Monday morning.
Police said shortly before 2:30 a.m., ShotSpotter Technology detected gunfire in the area of Marcus Bethel Way, off West Bay Street.
“Officers responded and found an unresponsive male suffering from apparent gunshot injuries,” police said.
The victim was reportedly working at an event when he was approached by a individual dressed in dark clothing and wearing a ski mask.
“The suspect reportedly discharged the weapon in the victim’s direction, fatally injuring him, before fleeing the scene in an easterly direction,” police said.
The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
