Chicago, Illinois is mourning the tragic loss of Itaintnever Icyy, a 22-year-old woman who lost her life following a shooting that led to a deadly crash Saturday morning on Chicago’s South Side.
According to Chicago police, the incident occurred just after 8:20 a.m. in the 200 block of East 103rd Street. Authorities said Itaintnever Icyy was driving a dark blue Honda SUV westbound with a 28-year-old male passenger when an unknown vehicle pulled alongside them. One or more suspects inside the vehicle opened fire, striking the victims’ SUV.
Investigators said both vehicles continued moving, and moments later the Honda crashed into a tree. Police stated it is unclear whether either victim was struck by gunfire.
Itaintnever Icyy suffered injuries in the crash and was transported to Advocate Trinity Hospital, where she passed away. Her passenger sustained bruises and other crash-related injuries and was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in serious condition. No other injuries were reported.
No arrests have been made, and Area Two detectives are actively investigating the incident.
The loss has left family, friends, and neighbors devastated. Community members say her passing is another painful reminder of how violence continues to claim young lives and leave lasting wounds across neighborhoods.
As Roseland grieves, residents are calling for peace, accountability, and healing—hoping that remembering Itaintnever Icyy will help spark change and prevent more families from experiencing the same heartbreak.
