Thames Valley Police are investigating a reported shooting that occurred in Woodley on Friday afternoon.
Officers were called to an incident on Spitfire Way, within the new Airfield housing development, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Reports indicate that a man was shot during an argument in the area. He sustained injuries to his face and was taken to hospital by ambulance. His current condition has not been confirmed.
Police have acknowledged the incident and confirmed that enquiries are ongoing. A cordon was reportedly put in place while officers carried out initial investigations, and the area remains under police scrutiny as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
At this stage, Thames Valley Police have not released a full statement or confirmed the type of weapon involved. However, investigators are appealing for information from members of the public.
Anyone who was in the Spitfire Way area around the time of the incident, or who witnessed anything suspicious—including seeing an individual carrying what appeared to be a firearm or air rifle—is urged to contact Thames Valley Police on 101.
