As Chief Nurse Executive for HCA Healthcare, one of the nation’s largest healthcare systems, Dr. Mosier oversaw a vast network of nurse executives and more than 99,000 registered nurses across hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other care environments.
Her leadership style was defined by an unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and the professional growth of nurses at every stage of their careers. She believed that the strength of healthcare systems relies on supporting and empowering those on the front lines, a philosophy that guided her every decision.
Dr. Mosier began her journey with HCA Healthcare in 1996 as a medical-surgical nurse at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Kentucky. Even in those early years at the bedside, her commitment to patient care and clinical excellence was evident.
Her ability to combine empathy, technical skill, and leadership potential paved the way for a career marked by steady advancement into influential roles. Despite her rise to senior leadership, Dr. Mosier remained a tireless advocate for nurses, fostering engagement, promoting professional development, and recognizing outstanding service at every level of her organization.
Among her most notable contributions were her leadership in establishing HCA Healthcare’s Nursing Advocacy Agenda and the Unit of Distinction Awards. Prior to her tenure as Senior Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive, Dr. Mosier served as Chief Nurse Executive Officer for the HCA Healthcare National Group and as Vice President of Group Clinical Operations, roles in which she continued to influence healthcare policy and practice on a broad scale.
Dr. Mosier’s educational achievements reflected her commitment to leadership and excellence. She held a Doctorate in Healthcare Administration, a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McKendree University.
She was also a board-certified Nurse Executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center, a testament to her dedication to professional standards and continued learning.
