Rosario’s legacy is deeply rooted in her commitment to equity and her passion for uplifting marginalized communities. She was widely admired for her academic achievements, her advocacy efforts, and her ability to bring people together through empathy and purpose. Those who knew her describe her as warm, determined, and endlessly generous—a woman who poured her heart into every relationship, project, and cause she embraced.

Her impact extended far beyond the classroom and workplace. Rosario’s work in immigration policy became one of her most defining contributions, earning recognition for its innovation and humanity. One of the most heartfelt tributes came from her colleague and classmate, Kershey Priv, who collaborated closely with Rosario during their time at Columbia University.

“I’m deeply saddened by the loss of my colleague Ashley Rosario, whom I met at Columbia University,” Priv shared. “We collaborated on two assignments and co-created a policy brief that pioneered new pathways to legalization for undocumented immigrants. In a classwide (friendly) competition, our work was recognized as one of three winning policies. We proudly donated our prize to United We Dream.”

Priv added a moving farewell:
“Ashley, rest in peace. United, we dreamt for a moment in time, and united, your allies will carry your vision forward, fueling our collective pursuit of justice and equality. My heart goes out to Ashley’s wife, her 7-year-old daughter, her family, and her friends. Gone too soon.”

The loss of Rosario is felt deeply throughout both Camden and Philadelphia, where she was known not only for her intellect but for her kindness, her authenticity, and her ability to inspire others to believe in the possibility of change. Her colleagues recall her generosity in mentoring others, her thoughtful leadership style, and her unwavering belief in building a more just and inclusive society.
