The Fishers Police Department has arrested 31-year-old Maclean Murt, of Indianapolis, on a preliminary charge of murder following a deadly shooting early Monday inside Britton Tavern on Mundy Drive.
Officers were dispatched to 14005 Mundy Drive at approximately 2:45 a.m. on December 1, 2025, after reports of a shooting inside the popular local bar. When police arrived, they located a man—later identified as 30-year-old Justin Burton—with injuries consistent with a single gunshot wound.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and medics, Burton was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the suspect, Maclean Murt, remained on-site and was taken into custody without incident. According to preliminary investigative findings, the victim and suspect were reportedly involved in a disagreement over a vape shortly before the shooting occurred. Investigators have not released further context surrounding the altercation.
The Hamilton County Coroner’s Office confirmed the victim’s identity as Justin Burton, a respected manager at the Conrad Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. News of his death has spread shock and grief across the hospitality community, where he was widely admired.
Authorities have also provided background information on the suspect, noting that Murt is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College and Carmel High School and originally from Carmel, Indiana.
