A tragic incident unfolded Wednesday night at the Hotel West & Main, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton property, after a man was found unresponsive in the hotel’s parking garage. Authorities confirm the death is being investigated as an apparent suicide.
According to law enforcement, officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report of an unresponsive individual in the parking lot. Upon arrival, first responders located an adult male who had suffered fatal injuries. Early investigative findings indicate the man shot himself before falling from an upper level of the hotel’s parking garage.
Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not yet released the man’s identity, pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators closed off portions of the parking structure as they documented the scene and reviewed surveillance footage. Officials noted that no foul play is suspected at this time, and current evidence points toward a self-inflicted act.
This marks the second fatal incident of a similar nature at the same hotel in recent years. On New Year’s Day in 2024, a woman died after jumping from the structure, an event that also prompted a significant response from local emergency crews.
Authorities have not indicated whether the two tragedies are connected in any way but acknowledged community concern due to the repeated nature of the incidents. Police are expected to release additional information as the investigation progresses.
