Motorists are being urged to expect delays and exercise caution after a vehicle collision caused the closure of multiple outbound lanes on the Eastern Freeway (M3) in Balwyn North on Monday.
The incident occurred approximately 269 metres north of Balwyn North, impacting outbound traffic during a busy travel period. Emergency crews and traffic management teams were quickly deployed to the scene to assess the situation, attend to those involved, and secure the affected lanes.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of vehicles involved or whether any injuries have been sustained. Tow services and cleanup crews are currently working to clear the area and restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
Drivers heading outbound on the Eastern Freeway are being advised to allow extra travel time, follow instructions from emergency personnel, and proceed through the area with extreme caution.
Traffic delays are expected to continue until the lanes can be safely reopened.
