Florida State University is mourning the loss of Marco Perez-Vazquez, a promising student who was found dead on campus last week in an apparent suicide.


Perez-Vazquez, a student of Political Science and Criminology, had recently been serving as an investigative intern at the Law Offices of the Public Defender – 2nd Judicial Circuit of Florida for the past five months. He had also expressed aspirations to attend law school, and colleagues described him as dedicated, thoughtful, and passionate about his future in law and public service.
