COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — A woman was shot in the face in a hunting accident in Colleton County Saturday morning, according to Colleton County Fire-Rescue.
CCFR said that a 911 call came in around 7:49 a.m. Saturday morning reporting an adult female had been shot in the face and arm with buckshot near the Town of Smoaks west of I-95, and was being driven to the nearby Fire-Rescue Station #7.
First responders arrived just after the patient did, began treating her, and requested a medical helicopter. The helicopter came in from Orangeburg and landed in a nearby field, where firefighter-paramedics transferred the woman to the flight crew to be flown to the trauma center at HCA Trident Hospital in North Charleston, according to CCFR.
