The Union Township community is grieving the loss of 37-year-old Thomas Noble following a tense hostage situation that ended in an officer-involved shooting Monday night.
The incident began around 8:42 p.m. at a home on Cider Mill Drive after police received a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival, officers encountered a rapidly escalating situation that developed into a hostage scenario inside the residence. Despite the swift and careful response from law enforcement, the standoff concluded with officers discharging their weapons. Noble was transported to Mercy Hospital Anderson, where he was pronounced deceased. Thankfully, no officers were injured during the incident.
