The Sand Springs Police Department has identified the two people found dead inside a home Sunday morning in what investigators say was an apparent murder-suicide.
Police were called to a residence near East 10th Street and 10th Place around 6:44 a.m. after a family member contacted authorities. According to investigators, the relative had received a concerning phone call from the man who lived at the home, prompting the welfare check.
When officers entered the residence, they found 72-year-old Cynthia Toliver and 74-year-old Brad Toliver dead, each with a single gunshot wound. Officers also discovered two family pets that had been shot and killed.

Based on evidence at the scene, investigators believe Brad Toliver shot the animals and his wife before taking his own life. Police emphasized that there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public, describing the incident as an isolated family tragedy.
Detectives remained at the scene for several hours on Sunday as they processed evidence and notified relatives.
