Police: North Toledo shooting ‘not suspicious’ after person found dead in car

TOLEDO, Ohio — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in north Toledo Monday morning, an incident that they ultimately said was “not suspicious.”

Toledo police responded to East Manhattan Boulevard near Mulberry Street before 11 a.m. regarding a call for a person shot. Police arrived on scene and determined that an approximately 30-year-old male was found shot in the vehicle and was dead.

Police told WTOL 11 that the shooting was not suspicious and could be a suicide. However, the ultimate ruling on the manner of death would be determined by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office, police said. WTOL 11 observed the coroner’s office on scene.

Police had to break the vehicle’s window to enter the car.
