The community of Port St. John is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 28-year-old Lendzi Lakeman, whose life was tragically taken on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Lendzi died after being shot multiple times during a domestic-related incident in the 7000 block of Carlow Avenue just after 12:15 p.m. Despite deputies’ immediate life-saving efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene, leaving family and friends shattered by the sudden and senseless loss.

Deputies quickly identified her boyfriend, 23-year-old Tyjah Bellinger, as the suspected shooter. As investigators continue gathering evidence and speaking with witnesses, the community’s grief deepens. Lendzi is being remembered as a gentle, loving, and radiant young woman—someone whose warmth filled every room she entered and whose compassion touched every life she encountered. Her loss has left a void that words cannot fill.
Family members, neighbors, and friends are now leaning on one another, holding tightly to the memories she leaves behind—her smile, her kindness, and the irreplaceable presence that made her so deeply loved. Their sorrow is heavy, their heartbreak immeasurable, but their love for Lendzi remains eternal.
