Police swarmed Upper Canada Mall on Saturday after a jewelry store robbery during business hours prompted a major response and the temporary blocking of multiple mall entrances.

Witnesses reported seeing officers rushing into the mall around the time of the incident, with shoppers being directed away from certain areas as police secured the scene. Several entrances were temporarily closed as investigators assessed the situation and ensured no immediate threat remained.
Authorities have not yet released details on the suspects, whether weapons were involved, or whether any injuries occurred. Shoppers described moments of confusion as officers moved quickly through the building and vehicles blocked access points outside.
York Regional Police confirmed that officers were responding to a robbery at a jewelry retailer inside the mall and that the investigation is ongoing.
More information is expected as police review security footage and interview witnesses who were inside the mall at the time of the incident.
