Thirteen people have been taken to the hospital after a vehicle left the track during the Demolition Derby at the Walcha Motorcycle Rally, crashing into a crowd of spectators at the Walcha Showground on Saturday evening.

NSW Ambulance confirmed that eleven people sustained minor injuries, while two others suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. All patients transported to the hospital are believed to be adults.
Emergency crews from the SES, Fire and Rescue NSW, and NSW Ambulance were already on standby at the event and responded within moments, providing first aid and helping triage those hurt.
Early reports from the scene initially suggested as many as 20 injuries, including up to six people who were thought to be in critical condition. The situation was later clarified once paramedics completed assessments.
The crash triggered a large-scale emergency response, with two helicopters, multiple ambulance units, SES teams, fire crews, and on-site nurses deployed to assist.
Local MP Brendan Moylan acknowledged the seriousness of the incident, writing in a statement:
“There has been a serious accident at the Walcha Motorcycle Rally this evening.
My understanding is that a vehicle in the demolition derby has collided with a section of spectators, and a number of people have been injured.
Emergency services are currently on the scene providing urgent assistance.
I will share further updates as soon as accurate information becomes available.

Authorities have not yet released details about how the vehicle left the track or whether the event will continue as scheduled.
