Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman from Minneapolis, Minnesota, was shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during a federal immigration operation. She was struck while in her vehicle, transported to the hospital, and unfortunately passed away. City officials described her as an observer who was watching out for her immigrant neighbors.
In an interview with the Minnesota Star Tribune, her mother, Donna Gange, shared: “Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known. She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving, and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
Back in 2020, Renee pursued studies in creative writing at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Her family noted her deep passion for writing, reading, and discussing literature. The Minneapolis community is grieving the loss of Renee deeply. Amid national divisions over responsibility, it’s crucial to recall that losing compassion for one another diminishes our humanity. Always prioritize kindness over taking sides.
