💔 When empathy is held captive by fear and division, innocent lives are the ones that suffer most.
Renee Nicole Good, a 37 year old Minneapolis resident originally from Colorado, tragically lost her life after being struck during an immigration operation in the city. She was inside her vehicle at the time, was transported to a hospital, and later passed away from her injuries. Local officials described Renee as a community observer who regularly looked out for her immigrant neighbors. Her mother, Donna Gange, remembered her as deeply compassionate, loving, and devoted to caring for others, saying Renee spent her life helping people and leading with kindness.
Beyond her advocacy, Renee was also a gifted writer. In 2020, she earned recognition for her poetry while studying creative writing at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Her family shared that she had a lifelong passion for reading, writing, and thoughtful conversation. As the Minneapolis community continues to grieve her loss, Renee’s life stands as a reminder that compassion should never be lost, no matter the circumstances. When empathy guides us, humanity is preserved for everyone.
