Opinion: Controversial View Sparks Debate Over ICE Shooting, Use of Lethal Force, and Deterrence

I have thoughts on this ICE shooting. Controversial thoughts.
(I know. You’re shocked!)
If you try to run over an ICE agent, you should not leave that scene alive.
Period.
Deterrence saves lives. One dies that many more can live. Kill one attempted murderer in the act, and you stop many other attempted murderers from ever acting to begin with.
I’m not sure, yet, if that is what happened in this instance, so I won’t say that this is a justified shooting, but if she did nearly run over an ICE agent while defying their orders, she absolutely should have been shot.
I don’t care that her vehicle was no longer threatening anyone the moment she was shot. I don’t care that the agent was in the clear and then started shooting. That’s utterly irrelevant.
If she did nearly run over an ICE agent, I’m disappointed in ICE because of how reserved they were. That woman’s vehicle ought to look like Swiss cheese. She should have been pulled out in pieces.
It is immoral to suggest otherwise.
Letting people try to drive over ICE agents is EVIL. Thinking they should survive an attempt to kill an ICE agent is evil.
To be clear. I am saying YOU ARE EVIL IF YOU THINK IT IS WRONG FOR ICE AGENTS TO KILL A WOMAN WHO JUST TRIED TO DRIVE OVER THEM.
Hoping the person who tried to kill the ICE agent dies is good. Here is why. Deterrence. One murderer dies and it deters other would-be murderers and this saves both future would-be murderers and the ICE agents they would have murdered.
Defending this woman creates a climate that leads to many more deaths.
Being glad that they killed her is the hallmark of a climate where far fewer people die. That’s why it’s good to want people like this attempted murderer (if she was) to be shot on sight and not survive the ordeal.
