LEXINGTON — One person was transported to the hospital Monday night following a shooting in a residential area of Lexington, according to police.
Lexington Police Department officials said officers were dispatched at approximately 7:00 p.m. to the 200 block of Hedgewood Court after receiving reports that a person had been shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they located a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Emergency medical personnel provided treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to a local hospital. The individual’s current condition has not been released.
Police have not disclosed details regarding a suspect, possible motive, or whether any arrests have been made. Investigators remained on scene for several hours collecting evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.
Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen or heard anything related to the incident to contact the Lexington Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through the department’s tip line.
