ST. LOUIS – A grand jury has indicted 26-year-old D.J. Marshall for the shooting of Granite City police Officer Tyler Timmons. The indictment includes charges of first-degree attempted murder, aggravated battery and multiple weapons offenses.
The shooting incident occurred on Dec. 5, when Marshall allegedly shot the 27-year-old Officer Timmons twice after he responded to a call. Following the incident, Timmons spent a week recovering in the hospital.
Marshall was denied pre-trial release. He was apprehended shortly after the shooting.
