GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A 13-year-old girl was killed Sunday afternoon following a shooting in a Goldsboro neighborhood, according to the Goldsboro Police Department.
Officers were dispatched to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Alpha Court at approximately 4:35 p.m. on Dec. 21. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a juvenile female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Wayne County EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
The Goldsboro Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit are actively investigating the incident. No additional details, including information about possible suspects or the circumstances surrounding the shooting, have been released.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and active. Additional information will be provided as it becomes available and appropriate.
