Aaron Isaiah Aguero, a 20-year-old active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, lost his life following a devastating three-vehicle crash on Yadkin Road—an accident that has left an indelible ache in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
According to the Fayetteville Police Department, the crash occurred just before 1:00 p.m. as Aaron was traveling on his motorcycle along Yadkin Road, heading from Santa Fe Drive toward Lake Valley Drive. In a preliminary investigation, officers determined that Aaron was attempting to pass vehicles using the center turn lane at the same time a Ford truck was utilizing that lane to make a left turn onto Cimarron Drive. Despite a last-moment effort to avoid the collision by swerving into oncoming traffic, Aaron struck the rear of the truck and was tragically ejected into a third vehicle traveling toward Santa Fe Drive.
First responders arrived swiftly, but despite their efforts, Aaron was pronounced dead at the scene. The roadway near Yadkin Road and Cimarron Drive was closed for several hours as investigators worked to piece together the events of that afternoon—an afternoon that would forever change so many lives.
