PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Federal authorities have released new photographs and surveillance images of a person of interest connected to the deadly shooting at Brown University, as investigators intensify efforts to identify, locate, and arrest the individual responsible. The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced it is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the suspect.
The FBI is urging members of the public to carefully review the newly released images and to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation. Officials said the images were obtained through surveillance footage collected near the scene of the shooting and are being released as part of a broader public appeal for assistance.
According to law enforcement officials, the surveillance footage depicts a man dressed in dark clothing, with his face partially concealed by a mask. Investigators believe the individual shown in the images may have information critical to the case or may be directly responsible for the fatal shooting. No further identifying details have been released at this time.
FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Ted Docks said the release of the images marks an expansion of the bureau’s outreach efforts as the investigation continues. Authorities hope the public distribution of the photographs will generate new leads and encourage individuals who may recognize the suspect to come forward.
Officials emphasized that the individual should be considered armed and dangerous. Members of the public are strongly advised not to approach the suspect under any circumstances. Instead, anyone who recognizes the person in the images or has information related to his identity, movements, or whereabouts is urged to immediately contact investigators.
Tips can be submitted to the FBI Tip Center at 1-800-CALL-FBI, or provided through local law enforcement agencies. Authorities stressed that even seemingly minor details—such as unusual behavior, sightings, or changes in routine—could prove crucial to advancing the investigation.
The shooting at Brown University has raised significant concern within the campus community and beyond, as federal and local law enforcement agencies continue to work jointly to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Investigators have not released additional details about the victim or the events leading up to the shooting, citing the ongoing nature of the case.
