The Montgomery community is mourning the loss of 56-year-old Ann Sledge, who tragically died in a house fire early Tuesday morning.
Authorities say firefighters were called to a one-story home in the 3600 block of Loxley Lane around 2:40 a.m. Montgomery Fire/Rescue units quickly responded and worked to extinguish the flames. Once the fire was under control, crews conducted a thorough search of the home and discovered Sledge inside. Despite the efforts of emergency responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene. No injuries were reported among the firefighters who responded to the emergency.
