Fatal Shooting at O’Donnell Middle School: Active Shooter Response Underway in Houston, TX

A large law enforcement and emergency response was underway Friday following reports of a shooting at O’Donnell Middle School in Houston.


Authorities said five people were reportedly shot at the school, located at 14041 Alief Clodine Road, in the Alief area of the city. A lockdown was immediately imposed as police worked to secure the campus and surrounding area. Members of the public were urged to stay away from the location.

Multiple police officers from the Alief area responded to the scene, with more than 30 patrol vehicles reported. Officers were seen covering exits, while specialized units, including a SEAT team and SWAT officers equipped with tactical vehicles, were also deployed. Some officers were observed carrying AR-style rifles as part of the active response.

Emergency services, including ambulances, firefighters, and a Rescue Task Force, were staged nearby to provide medical assistance. The extent of injuries had not been officially confirmed by authorities at the time of reporting.

Police continued to secure the area and assess the situation, while school officials followed lockdown procedures to ensure student and staff safety. No additional details regarding suspects or arrests were immediately available.
