ODESSA, Texas – A 15-year-old boy in Texas is accused of shooting and killing three members of his ex-girlfriend’s family, police said.
The Odessa Police Department said the shooting happened Tuesday evening at the 87th Street Apartments.
Odessa police said the 15-year-old boy had planned to shoot his 15-year-old ex-girlfriend after school, but then he changed his mind and went to her home instead.
He is accused of then shooting the girl’s mother, 39-year-old Jessica Rodriguez, and the girl’s two siblings, a 9-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl.
The three victims were pronounced dead at the home.
Police said the boy ran from the scene, but he was captured within 30 minutes.
The boy is in custody at the Ector County Youth Center. He has been charged with capital murder of multiple persons. His name has not been released.
The investigation is ongoing.
