Police responded Wednesday to a report of an armed individual at the University of Arizona campus. According to the alert, a man was reportedly seen carrying a long gun, prompting a rapid law-enforcement response.

SUPPORT THE FAMILY, GOD BLESS YOU

The university’s police force, the University of Arizona Police Department (UAPD), along with other agencies, initiated an immediate “shelter-in-place” order and began a campus sweep. Students, staff, and visitors were urged to stay indoors and off campus grounds while officers secured the area.

As of now, the identity of the individual and the full details surrounding the incident remain unclear. The university has not yet confirmed whether the suspect is in custody nor whether any shots were fired.

UAPD’s safety protocols emphasize readiness for armed intruders and advise campus community members to follow the “Run, Hide, Fight” guidelines in active-threat situations.

At this time, no official “all clear” notice has been issued. University officials have asked everyone to remain alert and monitor official communication channels for updates.
