Communities across Camden and Philadelphia are grieving the tragic death of Ashley Rosario, whose life was cut short this week following a devastating accident. Rosario, remembered as a devoted partner, mother, scholar, and advocate for justice, leaves behind a profound impact on all who knew her.

News of her passing has sparked an outpouring of tributes, including a heartfelt reflection from her colleague Kershey Priv, who worked closely with Rosario during their time together at Columbia University.
“I’m deeply saddened by the loss of my colleague Ashley Rosario, with whom I met at Columbia University,” Priv wrote. “We collaborated on two assignments and co-created a policy brief that pioneered new pathways to legalization for undocumented immigrants. In a classwide (friendly) competition, our work was recognized as one of three winning policies. We proudly donated our prize to United We Dream.”
“Ashley, rest in peace. United, we dreamt for a moment in time and united, your allies will carry your vision forward, fueling our collective pursuit of justice and equality. My heart goes out to Ashley’s wife, her 7-year-old daughter, her family, and her friends. Gone too soon.”
Rosario, widely admired for her commitment to equity and compassion, is being remembered as a woman whose passion for justice shaped both her academic and community work. Friends describe her as warm, driven, and deeply dedicated to creating opportunities for others — qualities that made her loss especially difficult for those whose lives she touched.
Celebration of Life and Viewing
The family of Ashley Rosario is inviting friends, colleagues, and community members to gather in loving remembrance and celebrate the vibrancy she brought into the world.
